I have recently shared this Blog with my wife, Cheryl (also my boss and CEO at Ebsco) and asked Beau, our Golden Retriever to guest author. Today I am going one step farther and inviting several guest authors to write this Blog. They say it so much better than I.
“If I would have asked my customers what they wanted they would have said a faster horse” Henry Ford
“The best way to tell the future is to create it” Peter Drucker
“When the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills” Chinese Proverb
“If you really want to do things you will find a way, If not you will find an excuse.” Jim Rohn
“The problem is with doing nothing is you never know when you are done.” Unknown
“Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there” Will Rogers
“You are not stuck where you are unless you decide to be.” Wayne Dyer
“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” Abraham Lincoln
“You miss 100% of the shots you never take.” Wayne Gretzky
“It has been my observation that most people get ahead during the time others waste.” Henry Ford
“If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it.” Johnathan Winter
I am easily satisfied with the Very Best.” Winston Churchill
I am very impressive with my guest authors. (See Winston Churchill’s quote). So how does any of this relate to Ebsco Spring Company? We are constantly innovating and trying new ideas. Implementing new schedules to match the work load and accommodate our employees lives better. Developing new processes to be more efficient. Utilizing new technology and new products to create a better product, faster. If it’s not broken, BREAK IT. and then break it again!
Change is never easy to accept. There are always those who say NO. They are some of my favorite people. They are the ones that challenge you and force you to ask the right questions before moving ahead. Change for change’s sake is not good. The “NO” people force us to look into the new ideas closer and determine if they are good fit for Ebsco, today at this time. Sometimes the answer is NO and they save us a great deal of time and money. Other time’s they are wrong and we can move forward with a greater sense of confidence and enthusiasm.
I’m proud of Ebsco Spring and the courage and commitment to innovation. I think Ebsco Spring would have satisfied Mr. Winston Churchill.
Now if you will excuse me, It has gotten colder and I need to go and CHANGE into something warmer.
